Compiled by Roberta DePompei, Ph.D; Beth Urbanczyk, M.A.; Ann Glang, Ph.D; Angela Rainsburg, M.A.; Laura Uhl, M.A.
April 15, 2004
This Resource Guide is provided to parents and professionals who are seeking user friendly information about children and adolescents with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This information is primarily about transitions and school reintegration for these youths. The information is divided into sections that provide state by state listings of resources. These resources include pamphlets, booklets, CDs, videos, and persons identified in the state who can serve as resources for assistance. Some states did not reply to our survey and so every state is not included. It is suggested that you contact your state department of education for assistance if you are unable to find helpful information in this guide. Each state also has a Protection and Advocacy agency for persons with disabilities that can assist you with legal questions and advice. You can find a listing of these agencies at www.ndrn.org.
Finally, you can use the following national website resources for information and referral assistance.
Some links in this section are to documents created in Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF). To view and print PDF documents, you need to have Adobe® Reader®, a free software program, installed on your computer. Download Adobe® Reader®
