"Atlas" provides county comparison data on Ohio's Medicaid program
The Ohio Medicaid Atlas provides a number of maps that display comparative information about Ohio's Medicaid program for each county. The goal of the document is "to inform awareness and policy discussions relating to Ohio Medicaid." The Health Policy Institute of Ohio (HPIO) in conjunction with the Office of Ohio Health Plans at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services produced the report.
According to the HPIO, this information is important to evaluate because the Medicaid program is Ohio's largest health safety net program. The report states that the majority of people accessing Medicaid services are low income children, parents of these children, seniors, and adults who have a specific level of disability. Some maps of interest include utilization comparisons in community mental health services, habilitative developmental disabilities services, home health services, community waiver services, nursing homes and more.
